Specialty Media for Vibratory Finishing

Fortune Media Micro Brite

Fortune Media Micro Brite Media is primarily used in cleaning headers, A very hard and dense media. For burnishing and polishing. Excellent flowing action. Must be broken in to achieve best results, ideally suited for use in Giant Finishing PRI machine.

Fortune Media XB

130-140 lb/cu ft. Brown color.

Fortune Media XB Designed for the finishing and deburring of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. It’s a unique “coloring” abrasive, extremely durable, which makes it ideal for light burr removal, radius formation and surface refinements. Imparts high luster finishes on practically all types of metals. Close sizing minimizes wedging in work pieces.

Fortune Media F-36

110-115 lb/cu ft. The fastest cutting of the high density compositions. Combines short time cycle with low micro finishes.

Fortune Media N

115-120 lbs/cu ft. Brown color.

Fortune Media N A non-abrasive, high density media used for burnishing and brightening metal parts. Very long lasting. Requires a break-in period to develop best finishes. Good for chemically accelerated processes.

Vibra Finish

Speciality Media for Vibratory Finishing

Vibra Finish SC (Silicon Carbide)

85-90 lb/cu ft. Gray color.

A media used where aluminum oxide impregnation can not be tolerated such as braising, welding or soldering. Good cutting characteristics and good wear.

Vibra Finish P (Polish)

85-90 lb/cu ft. White color.

A ceramic media without any abrasives. For burnishing, polishing and driving loose abrasive.

Vibra Finish #7

135 lb/cu ft.

A very high density, extremely long lasting impervious ceramic media which produces a lustrous sheen on metals. Its density, along with its hardness and long life make it ideal as a driver for loose abrasives. When used with a chemical accelerant, such as in isotropic Finishing, Ra’s as low as 1 or 2 can be achieved.

Vibra Finish #8 uuster Bite

135 lb/cu ft. Brown color.

Formulated the same as Luster Bond. It contains top quality abrasives, giving light metal removal in conventional
machines and medium cut in high-energy machines. Composition-8 is very long lasting in both applications.

Vibra Finish #9 Luster Bite

135 lb/cu ft. Brown color.

Formulated the same as Luster Bond. It contains top quality abrasives, giving light metal removal in conventional
machines and medium cut in high-energy machines. Composition-9 is very long lasting in both applications.

Washington Mills

DURAMEDIA® PZ

130 lb/cu ft. Light Orange color.

A high density fast cutting media which performs along the lines of DURAMEDIA® 120 C. Its high density and utilization of zirconia abrasive best fits applications where hardened steels or high alloy metals need to be deburred and low surface finishes are necessary.

DURAMEDIA® FB

85 lb/cu ft. Off White color.

A porcelain based media which is an extremely hard and long-wearing media and is recommended for brightening, burnishing and polishing.

DURAMEDIA® 120

120 lb/cu ft. Brown color.

An extremely dense and durable ceramic media offering exceptional wear resistance. Excellent for use in chemically accelerated processes and high-energy mass finishing applications. Its fine crystalline structure yields superior body strength and fracture resistance. Applications include light burr removal, driving loose abrasives, final surface finishing and burnishing.

DURAMEDIA® 120C

125 lb/cu ft. Dark Brown color.

Combines the benefits of a high density media, blended with a prescribed concentration of abrasive to effectively and efficiently remove metal in applications where chemical accelerant’s are not used, while providing extended wear characteristics. The effects of increased weight/mass in combination with the abrasive will reduce your customers’ cycle time and reduce media usage. The net result is overall process savings.

DURAMEDIA® 140

140 lb/cu ft. Olive/Dark Brown color.

The preformed version of our DURALUM® XM product. Extruded to sizes and shapes which address applications where these advantages are critical to minimize lodging. It has the exact finishing characteristics that XM is known to provide.

DURALUM® XA

145 lb/cu ft. Gray/Black color.

The ideal tumbling nugget being dense, tough and free-cutting. A true micro-crystalline fused aluminum oxide abrasive, produced by a unique “chill cast” process, its solid structure, super-fine crystal size and carefully controlled chemistry (including titanium dioxide) make it strong and durable.

DURALUM® XM

140-150 lb/cu ft. Olive/Dark Brown color.

A ‘coloring’ abrasive. It is a sintered ceramic tumbling nugget with exceptional properties. Its hardness, toughness and extremely fine crystalline structure make it one of the best products available for developing a lustrous, high-color burnish on all types of ferrous metals, brass and aluminum. Principally used in mass finishing burnishing applications, DURALUM® XM can also be used for light burr removal, radius formation, and is an effective driver for loose abrasives in cut and color operations. XM is an excellent substitute for steel media applications.

DURALUM® PWS

105 lb/cu ft. Off White / Light Tan color.

A state of the art ceramic media that uses a proprietary fused zirconia abrasive specially formulated for maximum cutting ability. The harder the alloy, the more it separates itself from standard products. It also has a very low attrition rate for a media this aggressive.

DURALITE® II / LW II

65 lb/cu ft. Beige color.

A light weight ceramic media with an excellent cut-to-wear ratio. It is formulated for use on delicate parts and as an alternative to plastic media for light deburring and surface conditioning on softer metals. DURALITE® II is the alternative to plastic where effluent regulations are of concern. Die cast parts are an excellent application for USE OF DURALITE® II.

DURALITE® II-S / LW II-S

65 lb/cu ft. Beige color.

Has the same applications as DURALITE® II the only difference is the introduction of silicon carbide abrasive which provides a mild cutting action where a faster cycle time is required.

DURAMEDIA® 50 / SC

85 lb/cu ft. Specked/Off White color.

Especially suited for materials to be welded, brazed or soldered. These cutting medias contain a finely graded silicon carbide abrasive. They are recommended for use on parts that can have no aluminum oxide impregnation.

MICROBRITE

Microbrite Media is primarily used in cleaning headers, A very hard and dense media. For burnishing and polishing. Excellent flowing action. Must be broken in to achieve best results, ideally suited for use in Giant Finishing PRI machine.

PK Media

Precision pure porcelain media used where fine finishes are a requirement and mainly used in precision finishing.
